Twitter (@bobbins) is the most up-to-date source of information about me. Many of my personal projects are public on Github, and my whole professional history is on LinkedIn and a PDF version of my resume. If you want to get in touch, my email address is rachelheidi at gmail dot com.
Right now, I'm a software engineer at Pivotal Labs, where I spend most of my time making iPhone apps and the occasional Rails app. Some of my work at Pivotal is online, particularly blog posts and tech talks.
For the past 2 years, I've volunteered for Girls Who Code , teaching high school girls about the fundamentals of programming. If you're interested in seeing the work that some of my students have produced, you can visit our class website from last year.
Before moving out to San Francisco to work at Pivotal, I spent 4 years at the mind-blowingly innovative Olin College of Engineering. Olin's curriculum focuses on hands-on, collaborative engineering, and students start building actual projects on Day 1 of freshman year. Olin was where I learned iOS development, built the trampoline-controlled Whack-a-Tux game, and beat some PhD students in a data science competition! Many (not all!) of my projects live online, in some form or another.
